Effective July 2024, resident salaries are as follows:
Residents receive a competitive stipend for each academic year to put toward continuing medical education expenses, including but not limited to conferences, educational courses, books, subscriptions, learning modules, and educational software. We provide additional financial assistance to help cover the cost of presenting and publishing scholarly work.
Residents are eligible to participate in the Community Memorial Healthcare benefit plans (medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability). Coverage will begin on the first day of the resident’s contract.
Residents receive 20 days of paid leave each academic year.
GME covers the costs of the California Training License, Physician’s and Surgeon’s License, and DEA license while residents are in training.
Community Memorial Healthcare provides, at no cost to residents, the required professional liability insurance while they are participating in the residency program. The professional liability insurance provided does not cover activities outside the program, such as moonlighting away from a Community Memorial facility.
Community Memorial provides free, individualized financial counseling and financial planning services for graduating residents.
Our program covers the cost of the Board Certification Exam up to $2,000 when the resident registers for the exam during the final year of their residency.
Our residents may be eligible for student loan forgiveness. Community Memorial Healthcare is a nonprofit organization, and our academic medicine health centers are certified MediCal providers.
