Every Community Memorial resident is required to participate in scholarly activity in order to meet graduation requirements. Our dedicated Research Department supports residents throughout the research process, including research design, IRB approval, data collection, data analysis, and research dissemination through peer-reviewed journal articles and conference presentations. Research support team members include:
Michelle Azimov, MD, FACP
Graal Diaz, PhD, MSN, MA, CCRNK
Amanda Frugoli, DO, FACOI
Cameryn Garrett, PhD, MWH
Robert Rubin, MD, PhD
To help showcase our research, GME hosts an annual Resident Research Forum.
GME also gives residents the opportunity to present their research. Our residents have presented posters at regional and national conferences, including the American College of Physicians (ACP); American College of Osteopathic Internist (ACOI); American Association of Liver Diseases National Conference; Digestive Disease Week; American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology; American Thoracic Society; and Society of General Internal Medicine – bringing home awards from both the ACP and the ACOI National Conferences.
