Community Memorial Healthcare is a nonprofit, independent health system serving the needs of Ventura County. Our organization was established in 2005 when Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura merged with Ojai Valley Community Hospital, and it is comprised of these two hospitals along with primary and specialty care Health Centers across our service area. We are supported by two fundraising Foundations that help us deliver the high quality care our patients expect and deserve.
The sunny city of Ventura is one of the oldest central coast mission communities, founded by Franciscan Friars in 1782. Located 63 miles northwest of Los Angeles and 30 miles south of Santa Barbara, Ventura is nestled between the Los Padres National Forest and the Pacific Ocean. Our mild Mediterranean climate and inviting parks, beaches and trails offer plenty of opportunity for outdoor recreation, from biking, hiking, and horseback riding to swimming, surfing, tennis, and golf. The city also has its own small harbor.
Ventura and its surrounding communities are diverse and family-friendly. There are yearlong opportunities for community events and family fun, including a wide variety of restaurants, performing arts venues, farmers’ markets, arts and craft shows, music festivals, film festivals, shopping centers and street fairs. With highly-rated public school districts, a variety of private education options, and California State University Channel Islands just a short drive away, west Ventura County offers everything you need to make it home.
