About

A graduate of UCLA Medical School, I have been practicing Family Medicine since 1990. I completed my Family Medicine residency at VCMC in 1993 and went on to do a Med/Peds Fellowship with a concentration in diabetes. As one of my fellowship projects I started a Pediatric Diabetes Clinic for the Pediatric Diagnosis Center at VCMC in 1993 and have been actively assisting pediatric patients and their families with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes for the last 30 years. In addition to working in pediatric diabetes I did full scope Family Medicine until 2012 when I was asked to join the Las Islas Diabetes Center for Adult and Pediatric Diabetes. It is with enthusiasm and excitement that I am now bringing my services to Community Memorial Healthcare and will be offering care as a Diabetologist to both pediatric and adult patients there with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. On a personal note, I have lived in Ventura for 33 years. I have 4 grown daughters that I have raised and have been a foster parent for Ventura County. I spend my spare time trying new recipes and experimenting in making my own recipes with my daughters. I love gardening and getting my hands dirty tending my herb and flower gardens and have begun to delve into learning how to paint. I feel privileged and honored to work with my patients and their families as they learn to manage this burdensome chronic medical condition. I love working in the team approach with them, having the patient as the central team member and working with our Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educators, Nurses and Psychologists, all of whom are part to the team, coaching the patient to success.
