Brian Kwan, DO

About

Dr. Brian Kwan was born and raised in the Bay Area of California. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Physiology and Neuroscience at the University of California, San Diego. Brian developed an interest in orthopaedic surgery after undergoing knee surgery following several basketball injuries. After he was able to return to playing competitive basketball, he aspired to help patients also return to the activities that they are passionate about. Brian attended medical school at Des Moines University, where he served as a Surgical Skills Teaching Assistant. In medical school, he completed research on scapulohumeral rhythm variability as it relates to different shoulder injuries. During his free time, Brian enjoys playing basketball, traveling, cooking, and coaching youth sports.
