Community Memorial Health System (CMHS) is proud to present the 2019 CMHS Nurse Residents (pictured) joining our nursing team! Since program inception, September 2017, CMHS has transitioned 45 newly graduated nurses into the health care system through our Nurse Residency Program. The 2019 cohort was chosen from over 300 applicants.
The program is based on American Nurses Credentialing Centers (ANCC) accreditation standards and the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) Transition to Practice model. Each new graduate nurse is hired into a full time benefited position under the supervision of trained preceptors and educators with support from nurse leaders and management. Our nurses work through a one-year program that includes a 16-week clinical preceptorship, classroom activities, and opportunities for team training with Graduate Medical Residents. The program includes monthly seminars and team building to support their transition into professional practice.
The next Nurse Residency Program is planned for fall 2020. CLICK HERE for details on our 2020 program!
