Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear Medicine is a medical specialty that uses radioactive tracers to evaluate the cause of a medical condition based on the function of your bones, organs, and tissue, and to diagnose or treat disease. Using information gathered from Gamma and SPECT/CT scanners, our Radiologists diagnose conditions of blood circulation, infections, organ function, tumors, and forms of cancer.

Our Nuclear Medicine program offers a variety of imaging services for bone, brain, cardiac, gastrointestinal, liver, lung, renal, and thyroid studies. Specific studies include:

  • Bone Scan
  • Brain Shunt, Cisternogram
  • Cardiac Amyloid with SPECT-CT
  • Gastrointestinal HIDA, Leak, Bleed, and Gastric Emptying
  • Liver Studies (Hepatiq, Spleen, Hemangioma)
  • Lymphoscintigraphy (Breast, Melanoma, Lymphedema)
  • Meckles
  • MIBG
  • Myocardial Perfusion Scan
  • Octreoscan
  • Parathyroid SPECT-CT
  • Pulmonary Lung VQ/ with Quant
  • Renal Function, Lasix, and Captopril Studies
  • Thyroid Studies (I-131 and I-123)
  • Tumor Studies (Gallium and WBC)
  • Y-90 Radioembolization
